| MEET K2B My name is Kate Karwan Burgess, and I am the artist and owner behind K2BCREATIVE. Though my path has not be direct, I have known since a child that photography was my passion, my creative voice, and my art. I love what I do and I love the people that I get to photograph. I'm crazy in love with my "Trophy Husband" Tim. He is often my "camera boy" and assistant, besides being my best friend, biggest fan, lover, and father of my wonderful gorgeous twin boys. Every time I photograph a wedding I get choked-up in the emotions I'm witnessing, and it brings me back to my wedding day. Weddings are just an awesome thing to be apart of, and I'm honored and thankful to every couple that chooses me to artistically document the start of their lives together. Random things about me: I love cycling and teach indoor spinning classes; I'm an animal lover, especially dogs; my first word was cheese; I like a wide variety of music, but one of my current favorites is Adele; I wish I had more time to read; I can't watch scary movies; I was a helicopter pilot in the Army; I can strum a few songs on my guitar; I'm the oldest of four; I have a hard time closing cupboard doors; I'm a tea drinker; I love trees and mountains; and my favorite look is a dress or skirt with knee high boots. I have a few credentials to go along with my passion for photography. I have a Master's Degree of Photography from School of Visual Communications at Ohio University. I was a student at the coveted Eddie Adams Workshop. My photojournalism work is represented by Zuma Press. I'm a long-time member of the Professional Photographers' Association (PPA). I'm not happy unless my clients are thrilled with my work and services. My biggest reward is to have my clients become my friends, and clients for their next stages of life. This photo is of my husband and I testing out a photobooth I ran as part of my bridesmaid's duties at a dear friend's wedding. PHILOSOPHY Whether you are local or not, I like to really get to know you, my clients. The rapport we build is key to the natural and relaxed images that I create, and your personal style helps to shape my artistic vision. I photograph as quietly and unobtrusive as possible letting the day unfold naturally. Every collection of engagement and wedding images are as unique as you and the environment created at your wedding. I concentrate on the elements and emotions that make your love, relationship and personalities unique, and as a result my artisitic style is molded to capture the essences that makes you beautiful.Though it is not a requirement I highly recommend engagement sessions with every package. It gets people comfortable being photographed, and puts them at ease the day of the wedding. |
